Issues

Affordability

Making life affordable for working West Virginians is my top priority.

I support fully funding SNAP, Social Security, and veterans’ benefits,

and I oppose harmful funding cuts to safety net programs.

West Virginians also deserve to earn higher wages for their

hard work. Our state minimum wage is still $8.75 an hour,

less than half of what you need to survive. If elected, I will fight

to double the federal minimum wage.

I’ll also fight for legislation to help more West Virginians

enter the workforce. Many people want to work, but they can’t

afford childcare or access the transportation they need

to work regularly. I’ll fight to make childcare more affordable

and strengthen rural public transit systems.

Healthcare

Seven hospitals in our district are likely to close because of disastrous Medicaid funding cuts. This will take away good jobs from working families, hurt our local economies, and negatively impact the health of our already struggling communities. I will fight to reverse harmful cuts to Medicaid and Medicare.

I’ll also work to reduce the cost of health insurance, so no West Virginian goes bankrupt getting the care they need.

Ending Forever Wars

U.S. military spending in 2025 cost taxpayers roughly $895 billion. I come from a military family myself, and I will always respect our troops and appreciate their service. I also believe it's important that our country be able to defend itself. That being said, we're sending all this money overseas, while our bridges are crumbling and our schools can't afford new textbooks.

Reducing our military budget by even 1% and reallocating those funds could help address these needs. I support using West Virginians' tax dollars to tangibly improve their lives, not fund forever wars.

Environment

I’m pro-worker and pro-miner, but I’m also firmly anti-exploitation. Coal companies shouldn’t get to turn our drinking water brown and walk away with little to no consequences. I’ll fight for policies that increase mine safety, support miners with black lung, and hold powerful coal companies accountable for the harm they do to working class West Virginians.

The growth of data centers also presents significant concerns for our state. I'll fight for federal policies that hold data centers accountable for their environmental impacts, and I'll make sure local communities have the final say on whether a data center moves in next door.

I also believe in a free market that allows renewable energy to expand in West Virginia if that’s what businesses want to do. This would create more jobs and lower electrical costs.

Immigration and I.C.E.

Immigration enforcement is important. But ICE is violating people’s rights, engaging in federal overreach, and encroaching on West Virginia’s local communities. Our judges have ruled that dozens of people have been wrongfully detained in West Virginia. I’ll continue to stand up for the constitutional rights of West Virginians and fight violations of due process.

Expanding Voter Turnout

I am passionate about getting folks registered to vote, expanding voter turnout, and helping voters make informed decisions. Regardless of whether people vote for me, I want to help more West Virginians become civically engaged!
